Some random things about me

One of the fun things about blogging is that every so often people ask you to write on subjects like "8 random things about me" or "what I learned from...being on vacation".  I try and keep these to the subject of the Confident Writing blog, but they do, inevitably, reveal something of the person behind the blog, the life behind the words.
