Writing online PR

I don't know about you but one of the things I find hardest to write is my own PR.  Blogging makes it easier in a lot of ways - because it's a more natural, conversational medium - but harder in others - because you don't want the business stuff to jar, to break rapport with your readers.

Angel Writing online PR is easier and more fun when you're doing it for other people.  It's one of the reasons I'm really forward to doing some blogging and social media marketing with Claire Raikes, aka the Business Blog Angel.  I've just joined her Blog Angel Team and will be blogging there about once a week, as well as dotting around the blogsophere with my new part time Blog Angel Team identity.

Still, I know I'm going to have to persist in looking for better ways of writing about my business.  I do try and model the values and attitude of a writing coach in every post I write here - but that's not the same as being specific about ways we can work together and the good things that'll happen when we do.

Maybe you can help coach me to do this better?  I'd love to know how you approach writing your own PR and sales material.  Have you found a way to work sales and PR material into your blog posts or do you keep it strictly to the 'side'?  Do you have any killer tricks and techniques for getting over the awkwardness of promoting your own business - and writing your online PR with total confidence?
